what's your fit? That'll give us a better idea what happened. If it was an assault HMG those are lower DPS, longer range, effective out to around 60 with an optimal of about 40.

that is what "effective range" means Arkena. This is not a hard concept. Getting kills past 30 is harder, not impossible, especially if you're patient, opportunistic and watching to pick off wounded and stragglers.
However the downside to this is Assaults can back up shooting faster than sentinels can advance, shooting. Rifles out-DPS HMGs anywhere from 35-40 because of dispersion and the fact that you no longer fill the circle in addition to the reduction in damage-per-round.
Hence, at 45m, smart assaults win, Tunnel vision fatties die. |
